Another cold but wonderful day watching Tennis...ah just love grass season, rain delays and all. Hope you enjoy my day in pictures...
Ryan Harrison/Juan Martin Del Potro training
Nico Mahut/Mika Llodra training (with a touch of Nico Escude)
Andy Murray training (only one due to it being the far practise court). Plus could tell from the thousands of pro photographers watching this that there would be no shortage of pictures circulating!
Benneteau d. Mannarino- The neverending match with 4 rain delays lasting from 12:30-17:40. Ah Queens. These are from all parts of the saga, love Mannarino in his hoodie and the crossed legs on the rain delay. Paire was also doing this later in the day and they flaked out in similar fashion too, ahh these Frenchies!
Seems I have a new player I non intentionally see everywhere...Paire watching the all-French contest on Court 2. Love how he can just blend in with the spectators at Queens and no one recognises him...bet it wouldn't happen at Wimbledon. Shame he has a tendancy to make phone calls and texts all throughout though.
Benny looks pleased with the weather!
Mannarino rocking that hoodie...
This was just after Benneteau got out of the Umpire's chair, which he had been using for some reason...perhaps it's more comfortable than players awful folding chairs.
After Rain Delay no.13142425 approximately, drying the court with blowers...
During one of the fine drizzle rain delays, watching some more practise. This time Paulo Mathieu and Sergiy Stakhovsky were having a light hit.
Paulo smiles...the sun comes out. :) Sunshine Paulo Mathieu.
Also Ivan Dodig was hitting with Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in some rather fetching shorts!
Mika Llodra d. Pablo Andujar. All wrapped up against the "Flaming June" in London!
I like snarly Pablo! Fierce. He had a lot to be moody about today, being beaten that badly by a semi-injured Llodra.
Kenny de Schepper d. Rajeev Ram. This was a good grass court battle from what I saw from a court across.
Denis Kudla d. Benoit Paire- I was right to fear for Paire's chances in this one due to the less than ideal cold, damp and miserable conditions late on Tuesday, which Paire later confirmed himself about not wanting to take too many risks. He certainly played like he was protecting himself. Great racquet smash and sulky behaviour in this one but not to take away from Kudla who played a very good match. I've been at both his main draw matches and have been quite impressed with his progress this week.
OK, that's all folks for Tuesday. Back for more fun Thursday.
